Did you know that you could rent a penguin from West Edmonton Mall to be your ring bearer? It’s true! Sean and Colleen did just that! Apparently, West Edmonton Mall had a booth at the Bridal show about the penguin. Colleen and Sean thought it would be cool and so they rented him. The penguin was absolutely adorable and a hit with everyone as no one knew the secret – that there was a penguin in the bridal party. When it came time for the penguin to bring the rings, the best man (not knowing exactly what was happening, but following a request from the couple) acted like he had forgot the rings and went running to the back, and he came back out empty handed, but the penguin started to walk up the aisle with the rings around his neck. He was amazing – he looked around at all the guests, looking from side to side. Then he took a hard look at something, turned around and started to walk back out. It was hilarious. The handler got him to start walking back down the aisle again and he walked up to a little table that was there for him. The handler placed him on the table and got the rings from his neck while the bride and groom got to pose with the penguin. Talk about a show stopper. I am sure that people, David and I included, will be talking about this wedding for a long time!

This blog is all about creativity, uniqueness, out of the box thinking and weddings. Put it all together and you get an incredible wedding day! We have had our share of unique weddings – one that had breakfast for the “supper” – it was FANTASTIC!!!! Totally delicious! Another, a Medieval style wedding – with swords, medieval dress (both wedding party and guests) and finger foods – like in medieval times. We recently did a country wedding – bales for seats for the guest, wheel barrel to hold drinks, jam and hootch as the guest gifts, a bonfire to keep warm and fireworks! Yes, it was AMAZING!!! And, we did a wedding that had a penguin for the ring bearer – yes, a real, live penguin. It was so adorable! It was a surprise for guests and wedding party alike (only the bride and groom knew, and of course, us). Can you just imagine a penguin waddling down the aisle with the rings around his neck. Well, that’s what this blog is all about. I will show you some pics from the unique weddings we have done, and I will look for ideas that you may want to use in your wedding.
